Impact of the Coronavirus on the Economy

The health situation is improving, but the agriculture market situation is still unstable. Because of the inflation, consumers are increasingly sensitive to the price signal, and the shortage of workers is contributing. In this regard, pork remains more affordable than other proteins. The industry’s stakeholders must work as one to succeed and offer consumers quality products at fair costs.

René Vézina
Speaker, columnist, journalist

René Vézina has been working in the communication world for 40 years.

With a degree from Laval University in journalism and political sciences, he began his radio and television journalism career at Radio-Canada in the Gaspésie, before working for the national network in Montréal.

He then switched to scientific journalism, which led him to take an interest in economics, that since became his favourite field.
He spent 20 years working for TC Média, including editor-in-chief for the Commerce magazine and Les Affaires newspaper.

He is still in the media spotlight, on the radio and television, in addition to some specialized magazines, including Québec Économique, Montréal Économique and Immobilier Commercial.

He hosted Finances shows for TVA network and Déficit Zéro on Télé-Québec.

He is co-author of the guide Comment parler aux médias, printed in 2008 at Éditions Transcontinental, and regularly participate to forums and seminars, as host or speaker, reflecting on major contemporary issues. His lifelong challenge: help people understand the economy as it affects them on a daily basis.
