Artificial intelligence in swine production: where do we stand in 2024?

AI in precision swine production is slow to materialize despite being full of promises. What is stopping AI from being adopted to the extent promised a few years ago? Will AI finally find its place in our industry?  In this conference, we will look into the current and emerging AI solutions in the pork industry, and will identify the means to accelerate their integration.

Jacquelin Labrecque, Eng., M. Sc.
Chief Executive Officer Ro-Main

Jacquelin Labrecque is the current Chief Executive Officer of Ro-Main, a cutting-edge company in agricultural technologies. After getting a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from McGill University in 2013, he got a master's degree in Computer Science from Laval University in 2020.

Raised on the swine family farm, Jacquelin Labrecque has developed an early interest for agriculture. In 2013, he joined Ro-Main and founded three years later a new technology branch dedicated to the development of solutions integrating digital vision, automatic learning and software applied to precision livestock farming and farm automation. These innovations helped Ro-Main grow to be a global leader, offering mature commercial solutions using digital vision and artificial intelligence to meet real needs of the pork farmers.

Jacquelin Labrecque combines his experience in mechanical engineering, computer sciences and agriculture to lead Ro-Main towards continuous innovations aiming to make swine production safer, more profitable and respectful of the animals and the environment.
