Nutrient requirements vary considerably across gestation, transition, and lactation and are driven by many interelated factors and effects beyond the nutritional value of the feed itself. This presentation will discuss how current nutritional strategies address—or fail to address—these dynamic requirements and explore opportunities for future improvement.
Dr. Pieter Langendijk is senior research scientist with Trouw Nutrition. He graduated with a PhD from Wageningen University, in 2001, and has since held research positions at Utrecht University, University of Adelaide (South Australia), and has been associate professor with Murdoch University (West Australia). Pieter has over 25 yrs of experience in sow research, and is a specialist in nutrition and reproduction. He is currently associate professor with Wageningen University in The Netherlands. Pieter has published over 150 peer reviewed journal papers and conference papers.
