Should we shift our focus on weaned pigs?

To set up post-weaning pigs for success, attention should be paid to the piglets with low robustness or health-challenge with respects to nutrition and production management, especially when low-zinc regulation arrives. This presentation will focus on strategies that can improve livability and productivity of post-weaning pigs.

Zhenbin Zhang, Ph. D.
Swine Nutrition Expert Cargill Nutrition & Health (Canada)

Dr. Zhenbin Zhang is a Swine nutrition expert at Cargill Animal Nutrition & Health. He conducted research on digestive physiology in segregated early weaned pigs (14-d-old weaning) for 6 years in China before he came to Canada to pursue Ph.D. study.

After getting Ph.D. degree in Nutritional Biochemistry from the University of Manitoba, he worked at HyLife for 11 years as a Swine Nutritionist. Started from August 2018, Zhenbin worked as a Territory Manager and Technical Support at Jefo Nutrition until late of 2021 when he joined Cargill as a Swine Nutritionist.
