Myriam Lachance is a farmer wellbeing worker for the Au coeur des familles agricoles organisation in the Capitale-Nationale-Côte-Nord area. Social worker as well as guidance counsellor, she's been working to help others for 14 years, mainly in adult mental health. At the same time, agriculture has been her passion for years. Not born on a farm, she worked for a vineyard, an orchard, a vegetable farm as well as taking care of small animals on an educational farm. She has a great respect for farming and those that feed us, and she is happy to share her professional experience with farmers.
Proud of her community roots, Myriam prioritizes outreach work with farmers as well as collaborating with partners. Proactive, dynamic and with a warm personality, she wants to be accessible and available for any farming industry stakeholders. Her goal is to meet every farming family on her territory!
Knowing how crucial it is, Myriam devote as much time to prevention as she does to intervention. Her presentations, lectures and columns, particularly in La Terre de chez nous, aim to increase awareness of the importance of self-care.
Martine Fraser is a farmer wellbeing worker in Mauricie for the Au coeur des familles agricole organisation. She was the lucky one chosen to co-host a mental health conference in agriculture. Raised on a dairy farm, and still regularly working there, she is very familiar with farming reality. Be it in the fields or with the cows, Martine always loved agriculture. After a few years working with women victims of domestic violence, she has dedicated herself to farmers for the last two years.
Finding creative solutions, she never hesitates to get all the available resources to meet the needs of the people in her area as quickly as possible. Proud of her region, and aware of the challenges in agriculture, she is dedicated to her work for the maintenance and promotion of mental health. Martine is a hands-on proactive girl, actively involves with farming families and partners to make services increasingly accessible. She wants to create a lasting farm solidarity and remove the stigma of asking for help.
With her numerous involvements, either as a columnist for La Terre de chez nous, or with her presentations and lectures, Martine's passion for farmers' welfare is inspiring.
